The management

Daniel Mariotto

I was born in Toulouse in the southwest of France where I studied in a professional hotel and catering school. When I was a small boy, I already knew that I wanted to become a chef and, naturally, it was in this « pays de cocagne », the name of the region in the Midi-Pyrénées, that I discovered the ideal environment to nourish my culinary skills as well as develop my « savoir vivre».

I acquired a great deal of experience within the walls of various 5 star establishments such as the Eden Roc in Cap d’Antibes or the Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken. Before managing the 3* Hohenfels hotel in Arosa in the Grisons for nine years I was fortunate to manage as head chef the kitchens of the Tschuggen Grand Hôtel and the Bürgenstock Hotels and Resorts.

Thérèse Mariotto-Enggist

I was born in Thoune (BE) and I grew up in a family where the pleasure of enjoying a lovely meal was extremely important. It is, therefore, not very surprising that I married a truly artistically talented chef. After a few years spent in various large hotel establishments such as the Tschuggen Grand Hôtel in Arosa where I met Daniel, the Seiler Hôtels in Zermatt and the Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken, I passed my diploma at the hotel and catering school of Thoune, and went on to gain my position as director in the Krone hotel in Luzerne.

In 2003 and 2005 Cédric and Yannick were joyfully added to our little family and added quite a bit of spice to our lives as well!

It was in May 2011 after 20 years in different German speaking regions of Switzerland that we were offered the great privilege of managing two hotels, the Chalet Royal and the Magrappé in the pretty village of Veysonnaz setting us up for a brand new and exciting challenge.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
